Our story starts with a question.......
What is something that you've always wanted to do, but haven't done yet?
The answer to that question for me is easy, because it is something that I have wanted to do for as long as I can remember. I have always dreamed of opening a permanent retirement home for senior and elderly horses where they could live the remainder of their lives stress-free in peace and security. A place where they would be provided with the proper healthcare, nutrition, lots of room to roam, lots of love and respect, and allowed to just simply be horses. A place where nothing is expected of them except to be happy.
In March of 2022, we took a leap of faith which was the first step in making this dream become reality. We purchased property which would become Horse Haven Retirement Farm. It has been a labor of love, determination, sweat, long days and sore backs, but that property has truly been transformed into a place where we can provide sanctuary for these deserving creatures. With the support of our family, friends, and our community, we are so proud to be making a difference for all of our "retirees"! They come to us from various backgrounds and with different stories; some happy, some sad, and some heartbreakingly tragic. Each one has worked their way into our hearts and become beloved family members to us!
So that's our story to date, and as we continue to write more chapters in this gratifying endeavor, we appreciate your prayers and thank you for your interest. If you would like to be a part of our mission, we do accept and appreciate donations, as we are a non-profit corporation, relying on the generosity of others who share our love and respect for these horses.
